Client: Alternative Futures
Project value: £180,000
Duration: 14 weeks

Overview

Frank Rogers has been appointed to manage the refurbishment and upgrade of a supporting living accommodation unit in Wigan for housing provider, Alternative Futures.

The unit offers vulnerable people supported living whilst encouraging a move towards independent living. The scheme provides 24 hour care and support, whilst each of the 14 living areas contain kitchens, living, bedroom and bathroom areas.
The project includes the upgrade of 14 bedrooms and shower rooms and the removal and replacement of eight kitchens. Significant attention to detail have been made to fixtures, finishing and decoration with quality specification. Set across a single storey, the bungalow style home sits within an attractive courtyard setting.

Currently fully occupied, the individual units are vacated for a two week time slot to allow the multi-skilled Frank Rogers team to deliver all works from a single workforce including joinery and plumbing, with some electric works. Frank Rogers are set to complete the scheme within the 14 week time frame in preparation for full occupation upon opening.

Dean Rogers, Managing Director of Frank Rogers said:

“We are seeing more work secured in this type of supported living environment where residents are able to live independently with care and support when necessary. It’s important here that each living area is equipped with quality fixtures and fittings to nurture a positive and healthy living environment. Work is currently on track and the transformation is undoubtedly underway.”
