Project: Refurbishing The Stables at Lymm High School, Cheshire
Project Value: £391,000
Programme: 12 Weeks

Overview
With more than 50 years of experience, Frank Rogers is a trusted specialist in the educational and heritage refurbishment field.

Working as one of North West property consultancy E3 Cube’s trusted contractors, our team was delighted to assist in restoring The Stables at Lymm High School in Cheshire back to its former glory.

Description Of Works
Internal work included full damp treatment and plaster works with decoration, and the full fit out of a dance studio and associated flooring. Externally we completely stripped the building’s slate roof, renewed perished timber work and reinstalled the roof; including insulation and ventilation with new Velux windows, as well as installing all new aluminium rainwater good.

We had to remove a whole elevation of ivy, while also trimming back some of the surrounding trees. The property’s stonework was chemically cleaned, resin was repaired and treated, and all brickwork was ground out and repointed. New windows were installed, a mix of UPVC and timber on the conservation elevations and the old clock face was removed overhauled and reinstalled. All glazing to the existing glazed link canopy was replaced and redecorated in the school’s branded colours.

Safe System Of Works
Lymm High School was established over 430 years ago, so this project required a company that could carefully consider the live school environment while restoring the heritage of its historic buildings.

We established a safe working compound for our team whilst on site to ensure their safety and the safety of school staff and pupils throughout. Dust and noise were key factors we had to manage on the project, with the volume of grinding out to the brickwork that was required. We ensured we had the latest grinding and dust suppression equipment and had to work closely with the school and the local community to time the noisy works in.

Customer Satisfaction & Testimony
Our approach to collaboration and working as a wider team achieved timely programme, property sales and new resident move-ins before Christmas as planned.

Ryan Hurst, Building Surveyor said:

“Frank Rogers did an excellent job on both projects that ran simultaneously. From start to finish, the team were professional, coordinated and efficient. Now that the works are complete, it is clearly visible to see the amount of hard work that Frank Rogers has put in to achieve a very desirable outcome. I would definitely work with the team again.”
