Alpha HomesFire risk works, Sir Charles Groves Halls

Client: Liberty Living

Overview

Frank Rogers has completed a fire risk programme at student halls in Manchester, renewing over 400 letterboxes with fire retardant versions.

The student accommodation facility, Sir Charles Groves Halls in Manchester city centre, is owned by Liberty Living who was keen to review the fire risk standards in its homes, commissioning Frank Rogers to carry out an initial inspection and survey. The removal and replacement of all letterboxes was recommended and the contractor appointed to carry out all works

Mike Travis, Contracts Manager at Frank Rogers commented: “It’s incredibly important that owners and managers of tower blocks such as Sir Charles Groves Halls regularly access and monitor the fire prevention measures and infrastructure in place within their buildings.

“Improvements can range from introduction of fire doors through to smaller works such as letterbox replacement, as is the case here.”

The programme was completed within a four week period with works delivered by two joiners and a site supervisor.

Outcomes
