Walney School transformation into Walney Academy

Summer is always one of the busiest periods for our education team, and this year is no different.

Frank Rogers Building Contractors is proud to be working at Walney School as it continues its exciting transformation into Walney Academy, delivering a fast-paced refurbishment programme to support the creation of new UTC learning spaces.

Over a tight 10-week programme, our team will be transforming existing school areas into modern, practical and specialist teaching environments. The works include the reinstatement and refurbishment of multiple ground and first floor areas, forming new classrooms, prep spaces, reception areas, storage, welfare facilities and hands-on learning zones.

The new spaces will include specialist equipment areas, teaching walls, 3D printers, laser cutting facilities, workshop and prep areas, DDA workstations, new partitions, floor finishes, wall finishes, ceilings, fire doors, M&E works and associated building adaptations.

This is exactly the type of project where experience matters.

Fast-track education refurbishments require careful planning, quick decision-making and strong coordination between trades, consultants and suppliers. With existing building constraints, tight working areas, M&E coordination and a fixed deadline before students return, there is very little room for delay.

Our team understands the pressure of summer works. Schools need safe, high-quality spaces handed back on time, and we are proud to bring our experience in live education environments to another important project.
