Supporting young people into education, training and employment

Our Construction Director, David Bracegirdle, was pleased to represent Frank Rogers Building Contractors at The City of Liverpool College this week, as the College welcomed Alan Milburn, Chair of the Government's independent review into young people and work.

The visit brought together students, staff and employer partners to discuss why youth economic inactivity is rising and, importantly, what more can be done to support young people into education, training and meaningful employment.

The conversation explored the reality of young people at risk of becoming NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) in Liverpool, the impact of mental health and low confidence, and the vital role that employers, education providers and support organisations can play in creating genuine pathways into the workplace.

As a Liverpool-based employer, these conversations matter greatly to us. Through apprenticeships, work experience, school and college engagement, careers events and our wider partnerships across the city, we're committed to helping more young people understand the opportunities available within construction and supporting the next generation to build meaningful, sustainable careers.

It was a valuable opportunity to hear directly from young people and fellow employer partners, and to contribute to a discussion that will help inform national policy on one of the biggest challenges facing the next generation.
