Shavington Academy Progress Update

Our summer education works are continuing at pace, with excellent progress being made at Shavington Academy, where Frank Rogers Building Contractors is delivering laboratory refurbishment works.

The project will support the creation of modern, functional and compliant science teaching spaces for students and staff, helping to improve the learning environment ahead of the new academic year.

The works include the refurbishment of existing laboratory areas, with redundant lab furniture, fixtures, finishes and services stripped out, followed by upgraded mechanical and electrical installations, new finishes and specialist laboratory furniture and equipment.

The rip-out works are now complete, and the spaces are really starting to take shape.

Our team has removed the existing flooring, wall boards, redundant fittings and associated materials, preparing the classrooms for the next phase of works. First fix electrical works are also progressing, with wiring and cable tray installation underway, alongside first fix plumbing and joinery/enabling works.

Working within a school environment over the summer requires careful planning, safe segregation and strong coordination between trades to keep the programme moving efficiently while buildings are quieter.

Next steps will see first fix works continue, followed by preparation for new floor, wall and ceiling finishes, upgraded services and the specialist laboratory fit-out as the project moves towards handover later this summer.
