Schools out for summer… and we’re on site

As schools break up for the summer, our teams are getting to work across multiple education projects around the UK, delivering essential refurbishment and improvement works while buildings are quieter.

One of those projects is at Shavington Academy, where Frank Rogers Building Contractors is pleased to be delivering laboratory refurbishment works to support the creation of modern, functional and compliant science teaching spaces for students and staff.

The project includes the full refurbishment of existing laboratory areas, including strip-out of redundant lab furniture, fixtures, finishes and services, followed by upgraded mechanical and electrical installations, new finishes and specialist laboratory furniture and equipment.

Progress is already well underway across Science Rooms S5, S6 and S7.
So far, our team has completed significant strip-out works, including the removal of existing flooring, wall boards, redundant fittings and associated materials. First fix electrical works are progressing across the classrooms, with wiring and cable tray installation underway, alongside first fix plumbing works and joinery/enabling works to prepare the spaces for the next phase.

Working within a school environment requires careful planning, clear segregation and close coordination. Our site team is maintaining safe working areas while ensuring the programme continues to progress efficiently during the summer period.

Next steps will see first fix works continue, followed by preparation for new floor, wall and ceiling finishes, installation of upgraded services and the specialist laboratory fit-out as the project moves towards handover later this summer.

We’re proud to be supporting Shavington Academy with the delivery of improved science facilities that will enhance the learning environment for future students.

We’ll be sharing more updates over the coming weeks as our teams continue delivering summer works across our education portfolio.
