Progress on site at Francis Street, Blackpool

It was great for our Construction Director, David Bracegirdle, Contracts Manager, Dominic Gregory, and one of our longest-standing Site Managers, Jimmy Myles FDIS, to visit Francis Street in Blackpool and review the progress being made on site.

The project is being delivered for Great Places Housing Group / IGL at 17 Francis Street, with works involving a coordinated programme of internal apartment refurbishment, external upgrades and communal improvement works.

Internally, the team has been progressing works across the apartments, including kitchen and bathroom strip-outs, first fix electrical and plumbing works, boiler replacements, plastering, kitchen and bathroom installations, ventilation, tiling, decoration, flooring and final handover preparations.

The wider programme also includes external works such as scaffolding, roofing, cladding, window and external door replacements, structural alterations, rendering and associated access works.

The project has moved successfully through key stages, including strip-out works across multiple flats, first fix M&E, new boilers, kitchen installations, external panel removals and brickwork openings for structural review.

Alongside the refurbishment works, the programme also includes important communal elements, including riser works, fire stopping, Fireline board installation, ceiling patching, plastering, decoration and flooring.

Projects like this are a strong example of the coordination required on occupied residential schemes, balancing internal upgrades, external fabric improvements, mechanical and electrical works, passive fire protection and programme management across multiple work fronts.
