Scope: Window replacement, fire safety upgrades, electrical compliance works, and suspended ceiling installations.
The school required a large-scale package of works to modernise its learning environment while addressing critical fire and electrical safety requirements. With a live primary school environment to manage, the challenge was to phase delivery in a way that safeguarded staff and pupils, minimised disruption, and ensured full compliance with building and fire safety legislation.
Frank Rogers designed and managed a comprehensive programme of works:
Window replacement – Full renewal of uPVC and aluminium windows across the school, enhancing energy efficiency, security, and usability. Emergency aluminium exit doors were also installed to improve safety and circulation.
Fire safety – Replacement of fire doors, installation of new hold-open devices, and comprehensive upgrades to fire detection and alarm systems, ensuring compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022.
Electrical upgrades – New lighting throughout the school, improving efficiency, safety, and the quality of teaching environments.
Suspended ceilings – Removal of existing ceilings and installation of new suspended ceiling systems in classrooms, integrated with the upgraded lighting and fire systems.
Programme & safeguarding – Works sequenced over a 20-week programme, with safeguarding measures, hoarding, and access controls in place to protect staff and pupils at all times.
