Case studies
Frank Rogers Building Contractors were appointed by Ramsay Healthcare to complete a fast-track refurbishment of critical clinical areas at their Euxton site in Chorley.
The project had a strict five-day shutdown period to refurbish the theatre corridors, dirty utility area, and associated storage spaces—requiring a well-coordinated, high-intensity programme with no margin for delay. The extremely tight timeframe, combined with the clinical sensitivity of the environment, made this project particularly complex.
To meet the demands of the accelerated schedule, detailed planning and programming took place in advance of site mobilisation. Materials were pre-ordered, logistics carefully planned, and trades tightly scheduled to ensure seamless delivery. Split shifts covering up to 20 hours a day were implemented, with experienced site teams working under pressure to achieve the programme.
Key works included the installation of a new welded white rock hygienic wall cladding system—chosen for its suitability in clinical environments—and the fitting of fully wrapped PVC fire doors for enhanced infection control. The dirty utility and storage areas were fully refurbished, and new external doors were installed as part of the external package.
Delivered in just five days and to a value of £140,000, the refurbishment works were completed on time and to a high standard. Ramsay Healthcare praised the professionalism of the team and were particularly impressed by the volume and quality of work achieved within such a compressed period. The result is a refreshed, compliant clinical environment that supports the hospital’s operational needs with minimal downtime.
