Crosby Cobras Junior Football Club has been awarded the Hightown Junior Football League Club of the Year 2015/16 accolade.
The club is sponsored by Frank Rogers, and the Anfield based firm have always been keen on supporting budding junior sports teams within the community.
Crosby Cobras Junior Football Club which runs two under 11’s teams – the Greens and the Yellows -was founded in 2010, and has been praised for its approach to the game.
A representative from the Crosby Cobras said:
“The plan when the club was formed was to promote the ideals of fair play and equal playing time for all, no matter what the perceived level of ability. This means that we can offer football to anyone that wants to play.
“We realised right at the start that The FA wanted to promote grassroots football that would not have competitive matches or league tables for Under-7s through to Under-12s. We believe that this should help to reduce the idea of winning at all costs, and hopefully reduce the problems more associated with adult football.”
Dean Rogers, Managing Director of Frank Rogers added:
“This is a fanatic coup for the Cobras. They have worked incredibly hard this season and have really come together as a team. Frank Rogers is proud to sponsor them and looks forward to continuing our supprt in the future.”
